Jamie initially contributed to the Mindfulness All-Party Parliamentary Group's inquiry whilst he was Business Development Director at the digital mind-health platform, Headspace. He was then asked to take over as Director of the Mindfulness Initiative in spring 2015 to complete the production of the Mindful Nation UK report, orchestrate its launch and lead on the advocacy of its findings. He complements this work as a mindfulness teacher and consultant. In the past, Jamie has been a software developer, advertising executive, climate change campaigner and global brand director.

Lama Rinchen Khyenrab é um monge plenamente ordenado (Bikkshu sanscr., Gelong Tibetano), pela tradição Sakya do budismo tibetano e Lama Residente do Mosteiro Sakya em Cabreúva-SP. Em sua formação laica, formou-se em engenharia agronômica na UENP - Brasil, pós–graduado em biotecnologia e agronegócios na Universidade de Cornell em Ithaca-NY nos EUA, Mestre em Psicologia Institucional pela UFES - Vitória - ES, Professor e Mestre de Filosofia, Psicologia e Meditação Budista - IBA - International Budhist Academy - Kathamandu - Nepal, Professor e Instrutor do CBCT - Cognitively Based Compassion Training - Emory Univsersity - Georgia - USA Em 1992, iniciou seus estudos no budismo tibetano em Kathmandu, Nepal, recebendo sua ordenação plena em 2003. Em 2004, retornou ao Brasil para ser o Lama residente do Mosteiro Sakya Brasil. Desde então tem se dedicado às suas práticas e estudos, e ministrado aulas e cursos de filosofia, psicologia e meditação . Da aula em cursos de pós graduação e é palestrante em diferentes instituições de ensino na área da Saúde e Educação.
Dom Alexandre de Andrade OSB (Mosteiro de São Bento de São Paulo, Brazil)
Dom Alexandre de Andrade OSB é monge beneditino e Mestre de Coro do Mosteiro de São Bento de São Paulo. É músico especialista em Canto Gregoriano, promove a prática desta tradição milenar de música e espiritualidade entre leigos e músicos interessados por meio de aulas abertas, gratuitas e ensaios mensais. Também coordena o Grupo de Meditação Cristã na Associação Palas Athena, onde se reúne semanalmente com pessoas dedicadas a aprofundar as raízes da Espiritualidade Cristã, em torno da prática da meditação silenciosa.
Patricio Barriga (Institute for Mindful Leadership, USA)
Patricio Barriga has been developing his Mindful Leadership experience for the last 10 years. He has received teacher training for the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program from the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare and Society, University of Massachusetts Medical School, and he has received teacher training for Mindful Leadership from the Institute for Mindful Leadership.
For the past 25+ years, he has been working as the CEO-President of Fagor America, Inc. A leading European consumer products company, for North, Central and South America. He developed and executed the long term plan and vision for doing business in the two continents. Once he created each country partnership, he developed the full business training and strategy. His experience includes all facets of business development, strategy definition, deployment and implementation, developing strategic alliances.
He also has been actively involved in other leadership positions as board member of several corporate and non for profit organizations; including the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce of New York.
His view is creating corporate value through values in the business world
Profa. Dra. Perla Kaliman, PhD (UCDavis Center for Mind and Brain, USA)
Currently, Dr. Kaliman is a Research Associate at the UCDavis Center for Mind and Brain collaborating in the Shamatha Project and Spirit Rock studies, and a Consultant Professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She is a collaborator at the Center for Healthy Minds (University of Wisconsin-Madison), studying the epigenetic impact of meditation in long-term practitioners. PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Medicine-University of Nice (France), at the Faculty of Biology-University of Barcelona (Spain) and visiting fellow at the School of Medicine-University of California San Diego.
Prof. Dr. Ronald Epstein, MD, PhD (University of Rochester Medical Center, USA)
Ronald M. Epstein, M.D. is Professor of Family Medicine, Psychiatry & Oncology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, and board-certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Epstein is active in research and medical education, focusing his research on mindfulness and clinical communication. He is Director of the Center for Communication and Disparities Research, He also directs the Deans Teaching Fellowship program to promote excellence in medical education. He has over 200 publications, including subjects as mindfulness, burnout, clinical communication, among others.
Profa. Dra. Elisa Kozasa, PhD (Brain Institute of the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, Sao Paulo, Brazil)
Elisa H. Kozasa is a researcher at the Brain Institute/Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and fellow of the Mind and Life Institute. She is a Biologist (Universidade de São Paulo) and has a PhD from the Department of Psychobiology/Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Her projects in the field of well-being and performance involves functional neuroimaging, physiological and behavioral responses. She participated in the dialogues with the Dalai Lama in 2006 e 2011. She was trained by Paul Ekman e Alan Wallace to teach the Cultivating Emotional Balance program.
Prof. Dr. Ausias Cebolla, PhD (Universidad de Valencia, Spain)
Researcher and psychologist at the Psychology Department of the University of Valencia, Spain. Psychologist and Doctor of Psychology in the subject of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, focusing his research on mechanisms of mindfulness. Master in Multidisciplinary Treatment of Eating Disorders and Personality Disorders at the University of Valencia and Master in Social Cognitive Therapy at the University of Barcelona, with a postgraduate degree in Clinical Hypnosis, also of the University of Barcelona.
Profa. Dra. Ana Paula Gouveia, PhD (Universidade de São Paulo, USP, Brazil)
Master (2000) and PhD (2004) in Communication Sciences from the University of São Paulo. It masters and graduate professor at ESAP (Artistic School of Oporto) in Portugal. He completed post-doctorate at the University of California Santa Barbara (2012), and at the Sorbonne, Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (2014), and now ends the last post-doctorate at USP (2015). Member of Philosophical Studies Center of Communication, where he works on Buddhist philosophy and its overlaps with the New Theory of Communication. It is also an expert in rituals and Buddhist ceremonies over which already gave workshops and lectures in the United States and New Zealand.

Psychologist. Master and PhD in Science from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). Teacher and supervisor of graduate in the field of Medicine and Drug Abuse Sociology Department of Psychobiology of UNIFESP. Coordinator of the Center for Research in Health and Substance Use (NEPSIS). Coordinator of the Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention Institute in Brazil (MBRP-Brazil).
Profa. Dra. Katie Witkiewitz, PhD (University of New Mexico, USA)
Associate Professor of Psychology and Researcher of Alcoholism Center, Substance Abuse, and Addictions of the University of New Mexico, USA, where she conducts research on Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) program for the treatment of substance abuse and mechanisms of change in the mindfulness field. She received her PhD at the University of Washington in 2005.

Professor of Preventive Medicine at the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Coordinator of the Center "Mente Aberta" (Brazilian Center for Mindfulness and Health Promotion). Co-author of several books and scientific papers on mindfulness, focusing on the implementation of mindfulness-based interventions in health systems.
Prof. Dr. Joaquim Soler, PhD (Universidad de Barcelona, Spain)
Currently, he is an Adjunct Clinical Psychologist at the Borderline Personality Disorder Center of the Hospital Sant Pau, Barcelona, Spain. Lecturer at the European Alliance Against Depression and clinical psychologist at the Suicidal Behavior Prevention Program of the same institute. Dialetical Behavior Therapist (DBT) certified by the Behavioral Technology Transfer Group since 2001, and member of the Workgroup on Biological Treatments in Personality Disorders. He has published more than 50 articles on DBT, Mindfulness and Depression.
Dr. Paul Bernard, MD (Oxford Mindfulness Centre, OMC, UK)
Paul was trained as an MBCT teacher in 2007 and, with mentorship from Professor Mark Williams, became an Associate at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre in 2012. He has recently worked closely with Professor Willem Kuyken and Chris Cullen to develop a new programme: ‘MBCT for Life’. Paul is a Consultant Psychiatrist in a large mental health Trust in the North of England, where he leads a team that provides MBCT programmes for patients, carers and staff and runs foundation level MBCT teacher training.
Profa. Dra. Rosa Baños, PhD (Universidad de Valencia, Spain)
Rosa Baños is a Full Professor of Psychopathology at University of Valencia, the Director of the Master in “Multidisciplinary Intervention in Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders, and Emotional Disorders” at University of Valencia, and the leader of the Spanish excellence network PROMOSAM (Research on psychological processes, mechanisms, and treatments for the promotion of mental health). He has several projects and publications on the field of mindfulness and immersive technologies, as virtual reality.
Profa. Dra. Patricia Jennings, PhD (University of Virginia, USA)
She is an Associate Professor of Education in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia and a mindfulness practitioner for more than 40 years. She is an internationally recognized leader in the fields of social and emotional learning and mindfulness in education, with a specific emphasis on teacher stress and how it impacts the social and emotional context of the classroom and student well-being and learning. Her scholarship bridges the distance between cognitive and emotional concerns in the classroom, allowing for a more effective focus on the whole child.
Prof. Dr. Luis Lopez Gonzales, PhD (Universidad de Barcelona, UB, Spain)
Doctor in Psychology from the University of Barcelona, Spain. Bachelor of Science in Physical Activity and Sport. Diploma in Religious Sciences. Coordinator of the Research Group TREVA (UB), focused on mindfulness into schools. Expert in relaxation, mindfulness and spirituality. Author of several books and articles on this subject. Director of Master in Relaxation, Meditation & Mindfulness at University of Barcelona
Dr. Vasco Gaspar, MD (Search Inside Yourself Program, Portugal)
Psychologist. During one year (2014) he was trained by SIYLI (Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute). In 2015 he was accepted as part of the ACEL (Academy for Contemplative and Ethical Leadership), a project from the Mind and Life Institute that aims to accelerate the development of a new generation of leadership capable of collective innovation and creativity. He is the author of the book "Aqui e Agora: mindfulness", launched in Portugal in September 2015 (Matéria-Prima Edições).
Profa. Dra. Jean Kristeller, PhD (Indiana State University, USA)
Professor Emeritus, Indiana State University. He has directed for several years Mary Margaret Walther Cancer Research Program, ISU / Terre Haute Center for Medical Education. He has directed and co-directed Center for the Study of Health, Religion, and Spirituality, Indiana State University. Among its research, work with compulsive eating and obesity, smoking, anxiety disorders and the use of meditation as a way to promote self-regulation processes is included. He has developed a training program based on mindfulness-eating, (Mindfulness- Based Eating Awareness Training Program – MB-EAT). Founding member and President The Center for Mindful Eating.
Prof. Dr. Edo Shonin, PhD (Nottingham Trent University, UK)
Is research director of the Awake to Wisdom Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness Research, and a chartered psychologist at the Nottingham Trent University (UK). He sits on the editorial board for the academic journal Mindfulness and the International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction. Edo is internationally recognised as a leading authority in mindfulness practice and research and has over 100 academic publications relating to the scientific study of meditation and Buddhist practice. He is the author of ‘The Mindful Warrior: The Path to Wellbeing, Wisdom and Awareness’ and primary editor of academic volumes on ‘The Buddhist Foundations of Mindfulness’ and ‘Mindfulness and Buddhist-derived Approaches in Mental Health and Addiction’. He has been a Buddhist monk for thirty years and is spiritual director of the international Mahayana Bodhayati School of Buddhism. He has also received the higher ordination in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. Edo regularly receives invitations to give keynote speeches, lectures, retreats and workshops at a range of academic and non-academic venues all over the world.
Prof. Dr. Ven William Van Gordon, PhD (Nottingham Trent University, UK)
Has been a Buddhist monk for 10 years and is operations director of the international Mahayana Bodhayati School of Buddhism. He has also received the higher ordination in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. He is co-founder of the Awake to Wisdom Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness Research and is a research psychologist based at the Nottingham Trent University (UK). Currently principal investigator on a number of research projects investigating the applications and effectiveness of an 8-week intervention (known as Meditation Awareness Training or simply ‘MAT’) that he co-developed with Ven Edo Shonin. Expert in the research and practice of mindfulness and Buddhist meditation, and he regularly travels all over the world to deliver lectures, workshops and retreats on mindfulness and Buddhist practice.
Prof. Dr. Javier Garcia-Campayo, MD, PhD Vice- President of the IV International Meeting on Mindfulness (Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain)
Currently a psychiatrist at the Psychiatry Service at the Miguel Servet Hospital and Full Professor at the University of Zaragoza since 2000. Licensed Medical Doctor by the University of Zaragoza, Coordinator of Mental Health (Carlos III Institute) and member of the Investigation Commission of the Aragones Health Science Institute. Director of Master in Mindfulness at the University of Zaragoza. Director of the Research Group "Mental Health in Primary Care". Author and co-author of several books and scientific papers on Mindfulness and Mental Health.
Dr. Fernando de Torrijos (University of Massachusetts, USA)
Director of Mindfulness Programs in Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry and Senior teacher of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Master in the treatment for the addiction to tobacco at the Department of Preventive Behavioral Medicine at the same University. He has worked directly with Jon Kabat-Zinn for several decades, focusing his work on the inner-city and Latinos population.
Dr. Chris Ruane (Member of the UK Parliament Group for Mindfulness, UK)
Chris Ruane was the MP for the Vale of Clwyd for 18 years, until May 2015. He was a deputy head in a large primary school for 15 years prior to being MP. He taught meditation (not mindfulness) to his pupils. He introduced mindfulness to the UK Parliament with Prof Richard Layard, Prof Mark Williams and Chris Cullen. 130 MPs and Lords have since been on the parliamentary mindfulness course. He has helped to establish mindfulness groups in the Dutch Parliament and Welsh Assembly and is currently trying to set up similar groups up in 30 other countries around the world. He was Labour Co Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Mindfulness before the election and was made Honorary President after the election. He continues to be actively involved in the Mindful Initiative and wants to develop effective techniques for the take up of mindfulness in many policy areas in the UK. In 2015 he was appointed to the boards of the Oxford University Minfulness Centre and Bangor University Centre for Research and Mindfulness Practice. He has spoken at Wisdom 2.0 Conference Dublin 2014, Mindful Way Conference Galway 2015, Bangor University Mindfulness In Society Conference 2015, Wake Up Conference Sydney 2015, Mindful Life Conference Washington 2016, 32nd HR Congress,Paris 2016, La Nuit l'enterprise Positive, Lyon 2016. He has worked with German MPs, Swedish MPs, , Australian MPs, Dutch MPs, Welsh Assembly members, American Congressmen French Deputies and politicians and ministers in the Arab world , and working with mindfulness advocates in 30 different countries to introduce mindfulness into politics and public policy, including the US Congressman Tim Ryans.
